8 Signs you have a strong personality that intimidates others!
People react certain ways to different personality types and a person who comes across as strong or dominant will be intimidating to others. You don’t want to be this type of person so see if you exhibit any of the following traits.
1) You don’t listen to excuses
You might have a strong personality if you don’t put up with excuses and will cut short any conversation where the other person is using them to defend their behaviour. You expect others to accept responsibility for their actions and will let them know when you’re disappointed in them because you want them to know how you feel.
2) You get right to the point
Small talk is a way of easing into a conversation and people find it intimidating when someone skips this social ritual. you’ll get right to the point though because you don’t like wasting time and want to get work done. You tell them exactly what you’re thinking and expect others to understand what you mean without further explanation.
3) You hold people to high standards
You’ll push someone to deliver their best work or to act in the right way because you don’t want them to slack off just because it’s easier. You’ll always try your best and expect other people to behave the same way.
4) You command attention
You command attention in social situations and you do this by moving and speaking with confidence. You always look people in the eye and calmly say what you want to say without letting emotions get in the way. You act like a leader and people see this personality trait and respond to it by deferring to you.
5) You go after what you want
You know what you want and won’t waste time by deciding if it’s a bad decision or not. Instead you’ll focus on ways to achieve your goals and work towards them without second guessing yourself. When something goes wrong you won’t whine about it and will find ways to get back on track as quickly as possible.
6) You make all the plans
A person with a strong personality will have a tendency to make all the plans because it’s natural for them to take charge. You’ll instinctively make all the plans and expect others to follow them without question because in your mind your way is the right way. It’ll annoy you when others try to take charge because you feel that you’re more capable than they are.
7) You interrupt people
You’ll interrupt people without meaning to because you’re eager to get your point across and think it’s worth being heard. You won’t realize that you do this frequently until someone points it out because you don’t take the time to see things from the point of view of other people.
8) You speak up for yourself
You’ll speak up for yourself when you feel like your opinion is being ignored or if you think you have a better idea. You’re not shy and feel comfortable talking to people so you tend to dominate conversations which is intimidating to others because they feel like their opinion doesn’t matter to you.
